It s all over... India gave birth to its 29 th state .Telangana Bill passed in Rajya Sabha amid uproar. India gets 29th state after Rajya Sabha passes Telangana Bill.
There was chaos and clashes in the Rajya Sabha over the tabling of the Telangana Bill on Thursday.BJP supported the Bill after Prime Minister assured them of corrections to the Bill, and special package to Seemandhra region. Unlike Lok Sabha there was a meaningful discussion by all the party members in Rajya Sabha and voting over the amendments moved by several members.
The bill was passed through voice voting amidst total chaos. Rajya Sabha is adjourned to meet tomorrow at 11 am. Now, it is just a formality that the bill is sent to the President of India for assent and notification.
