'Special Status For AP If Jagan Joins NDA'
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 July 2018 4:10 PM GMTComments made by Minister of State (MoS) for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale have been creating a political storm. He told Prime Minister Narendra Modi could have responded positively to the demand of Special Category Status had if TDP continued ties with BJP. He went on say Chandrababu Naidu walked out of NDA in a hurried manner fearing defeat in the next elections.
Interestingly, Ramdas Athawale has given an open offer for YSR Congress Chief. He appealed Jagan to join NDA with the assurance that BJP would help him become the next chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. 'If YSR Congress becomes NDA's alliance partner, I would take the responsibility of convincing PM Modi to accord Special Category Status for AP,' adds the Union Minister.
Looks like, BJP is desperate to form alliance with YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh to prove it's existence. YCP Chief, on the other hand, believes he don't need any party's support to form government in 2019. Why don't Ramdas Athawale convince Modi now itself if he is so confident of his abilities? After all, Jagan has already promised to support the national party which grants Special Category Status.
