Sale of Rape Videos for just Rs 50 has been extensively happening in Uttar Pradesh. Numerous outlets have been selling the videos of sexual assault across the state. Every day, Thousands of copies have been sold out but hardly any action was taken by Police and Administration.
Shop Owners would supply Rape Videos to only those people who approach them with their regular/trusted customer. The Dealers would either download the videos into customer's phone or copy them to his pen drive.
The prices could vary from Rs 50 to Rs 100 depending on exclusivity of the Rape Clips. Even rape video could last from anywhere between 30 seconds to 5 minutes. These videos might be the ones captured by Rapists at the crime scene or downloaded from websites. Nude Pictures of rape victims were sold out for Rs 3 per copy. Sale of sexually explicit content is rampant in areas such as Tajganj and Sadar.
Cops claim raids were conducted on such Shops selling Rape Videos in the past and appropriate action was taken. They were now getting ready to conduct fresh raids.
