The popularity and the reach of social media are so wide that the users cannot differentiate the original news and fake news. Attributing famous personalities to quotes and statements makes it even more difficult to differentiate fake news from the original ones.

Indian industrialist Ratan Tata had also landed in a situation where he had to issue a clarification that a statement that is going rounds on social media was not made by him. In a statement, Ratan Tata said the news is fake and he has not made these comments.

The statement that is being circulated on the name of Ratan Tata quotes the Industrialist as saying that liquor sales should be done with the help of Aadhaar cards. Those who buy alcohol should not be given the subsidies of food items that come from the government end. People who can buy alcohol need not be given subsidies.

Ratan Tata who got to know about the fake news that is being spread like a wildfire using his name jumped in to bust the claims. Taking to Instagram he said he didn't say these statements and the news is fake. "This was not said by me. Thank you," Ratan Tata said in his Instagram story.

The over usage of social media by the user is helping the spreaders of fake news to do their work easily. The majority of users share news without reading it completely.
