An Air India flight made a emergency landing in Leh Airport after rats were found in it. There is need for the Airbus A-320 to be fumigated as there is every possibility of damage to wiring system and it could lead to a threat to safety.

Experts say, The aircraft has to be fumigated even if a single rat is noticed. If they chew up electric wires, Pilots will lost control on the entire system leading to a major disaster.

Usually, Rats get on board of a plane through the large storage cases bought in catering vans which supply food for the passengers. On most occasions, They don't damage the wires as passengers drop a lot of food on the cabin floor itself to keep them busy.

However, Equipment to fumigate an aircraft wasn't available at Leh Airport. So, An Air India flight will carry the equipment to Leh Today.
