The Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy paved a way for the emergence of new districts in the state. The new districts were formed based on the Parliament constituencies and the districts were also allotted the concerned headquarters.

However, the new decision gave rise to new demands from various corners of the state. The list of demands is getting bigger and bigger. People from Vijayawada and Hindupur have opposed the decision and raised their demands.

As a big development, former MLA ByReddy Rajasekhar Reddy had raised a new demand that the Rayalaseema region should be made into 14 districts. He said that the region should be made into 14 districts given the vast area in the region.

Dubbing the Rayalaseema region as the biggest than other states in terms of the area, ByReddy Rajasekhar Reddy batted for the new demand. According to him, the decision is the need of the hour which in turn results in the overall development of the region.

Drawing a comparison between former Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and current Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy said that NTR brought the ruling to the people, while Jagan is ruling away from the people with his unsuccessful ideas.

“Anantapur and Kurnool should be made into four districts and Kadapa and Chittoor should be made into three districts each. Adoni and Done should be made into districts. There is a need to make Madanapalle a district for the development," Mr. Reddy said.

Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy is popular for his fight to grant special statehood for the Rayalaseema region. To achieve the demand, he founded Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi. Though his demand was not achieved, he shot to fame with the demand of a special state.

He had joined the Telugu Desam Party and won as MLA for two consecutive terms from the Nandikotkur constituency. During his stint as the TDP leader, he had also served as the Cabinet Minister. Keeping an end to his long association with the Telugu Desam Party, Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy had recently joined the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party.
