AP TDP MP's Rs 5000 crore deal with T-Govt
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 Oct 2017 4:08 AM GMTA couple of days after Revanth Reddy lambasted AP TDP Leaders for getting contracts from Telangana Government, Narsaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said there is nothing wrong in doing so. He even dared to say, 'KCR is a good friend of mine. I would seek his help if needed to obtain Rs 5,000 crore worth work contracts in Telangana State'.
Rayapati claims to have incurred huge losses in the Polavaram Project due to the cost escalation. He accused Centre of not offering enough funds for either Polavaram Project or AP Capital Amaravati. He also clarified there is no involvement of CM Chandrababu in the contracts offered by TRS Government to Andhra TDP Leaders.
Transstroy, the company owned by Rayapati's family, failed to complete the works of Polavaram Project on time. Hence, CM Chandrababu decided to terminate the contract and offer the work to two other firms for completing the project by 2019. Rayapati, however, used all of his influence and made Centre turn down Naidu's proposal.
