It has been reported that Police have recovered a bag, which is believed to contain the highly explosive material, RDX from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) soldier has found a black colored trolley suitcase next to a pillar in the Arrivals area of Terminal 3. The initial tests conducted by the explosive Vapour Detector (EVD) and a sniffer dog suggested the bag might contain RDX. The authorities said that an authentic test will be conducted again after 24 hours. At present, the bag was shifted to a "cooling pit".

"The bag was removed with the help of CISF and shifted to another place. It has not been opened yet. It seems like there are some electric wire inside it. We have increased the security of the airport premises," said Sanjay Bhatia, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport).

CISF Special director-General (Airports) said it is "premature" to define the explosive as RDX.

"It can be any material and the initial inputs can be false. To say it is RDX at this point of time is highly premature. We should wait for the final assessment report," said CISF special DG MP Ganapathy.

CISF Constable VK Singh has first seen the bag and alerted his superiors. The bag has created panic among the passengers. The passengers were not allowed to move for some time.
