Union Government Today conveyed to Pakistan about its willingness to discuss about the cross border terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir but not the J&K dispute.

Recently, Pakistan Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry extended formal invitation to his Indian counterpart to discuss about the J&K dispute. Indian Government, however, made it clear that Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar will travel to Pakistan only to discuss cross border terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi making a comment on the situation in Balochistan during his 70th Independence Day address reflects a change India's stand on Pakistan. Following this development, Pakistan sought talks between Foreign Secretaries of both Nations.

Actually, India and Pakistan begun Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogues (CBD) on December 8th last year. However, It wasn't carried forward after the attack on Pathankot airbase on January 2nd this year and Kashmir violence.
