Why Dhoni collects Stumps after Team India's win?

Every cricket fan in the country may have watched Indian Skipper MS Dhoni collect stumps after each and every victory of Team India. Why would Mr.Cool do so?
When asked about it, Dhoni replied: "Its part of his post-retirement plans. After retirement, I will look at them and recall the good memories. I have enough of them already to keep me occupied for years".
If the reports are to be believed, There is one more reason behind Dhoni's habit of collecting stumps. MSD's childhood friend Kulbinder, a son of Watchman, was the one who encouraged him to choose cricket as his career. Kulbinder reportedly sought Dhoni to offer him 320 stumps for using them as the fence for his house. May be, Dhoni had already achieved the target or at least came closer to it by now.
India will be playing against New Zealand in their first Match of the T20 World Cup 2016.
