Record Polling in RK Nagar! What it means?

Around 77 percent polling percentage in RK Nagar Constituency which fell vacant after the demise of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in December last year sets a record.
Even when Jayalalithaa contested from here in the 2016 Assembly Polls, Only 67.6 percent polling was recorded. What does the sharp rise in polling percentage indicate? Are the voters of RK Nagar determined to make their stand clear?
AIADMK fielded party veteran E Madhusudanan as its candidate in RK Nagar by-poll. TTV Dhinakaran who was expelled from AIADMK contesting as a rebel with the blessings of VK Sasikala Natarajan. Whereas, Main Opposition DMK Fielded Maruda Ganesh in race.
