Renault Lays Off 15,000 Employees

The ongoing pandemic originated from the Wuhan Province of China has left a deadly impact on the employment sector as many people across the globe have lost their jobs and became unemployed.
Some other companies have slashed the salaries for the employees to combat the economic crisis and to cut short the expenses of the companies.
The French multinational automobile manufacturer Groupe Renaut, popularly known as Renault has laid off humongous 15,000 employees as an attempt to fight the current crisis.
This move from the automobile manufacturer came as an attempt to cut the costs by Rs 16,800 crores. Out of the newly laid-off employees around 4,600 belong to France while the remaining employees hail from various parts of the world.
Earlier Rolls Royce has also axed 9,000 employees as part of the measures to fight the crisis faced by the iconic automobile manufacturer.
On the other hand, India too faced the wrath of the crisis as 12.2 crore Indians lost their jobs with the ongoing pandemic, and the majority of them lost their jobs in the month of April only.
