Operation Malkajgiri... this is the biggest buzzword in the Congress Party these days. Two Congress bigwigs are trying every trick in the trade to bag Malkajgiri MP ticket. One is a Dalit leader with great connections in Delhi and the other one is a firebrand woman politico who is very close to Congress matriarch. The first politician is Surve Satyanaraana and the second leader is Renuka Chowdary.
Why is Renuka Chowdary eyeing Malkajgiri? The Congress is trying to rope in former minister and TDP strongman Nama Nageswara Rao as its MP candidate. Nama, a powerful leader with considerable backing, would be a surefire success if he contests from Khammam. For this, Renuka has to vacate Khammam for Naga Nageswara Rao. So, she wants to contest from Malkajgiri. But, Surve Satyanarayna, who represented Malkajgiri once and had contested in 2014, is not ready to give up his claim in Malkajgiri.
So, an interesting fight is on within the Congress for Malkajgiri seat. While Surve is pulling all strings in Delhi to get the seat confirmed for him, Renuka is directly approaching Sonia Gandhi and Ahmed Patel for the same seat. Let's see what happens in this battle of wits between two Congress biggies.
