Republic TV Arnab Goswami Arrested By Mumbai Police, The Editor Alleges Physical Assault

A tense situation arose outside Republic Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami's residence after not less than a dozen officers of the Mumbai Police barged into his house and arrested him in connection with an old case.
Media outlets quoted the cops who carried out the arrest of the Editor as saying he was arrested in connection with allegedly abetting the suicide of a 53-year-old interior designer. The case traces back to 2018.
After barging into his house, the Mumbai Police pushed him into a police vehicle. Arnab Goswami alleged that he was physically assaulted by the cops during the arrest process.
Republic TV claimed that Arnab Goswami's son was also assaulted while the cops have arrested the Editor in Chief of the Channel. The cops have pushed Arnab's in-laws reportedly.
It has been widely reported that Arnab will be shifted to Raigad for questioning in the much talked about abiding by suicide case. The Editor is accused in this case of not paying the dues for an architect.
This sudden arrest came days after the Mumbai Police accused Republic TV n TRP scam and served notices to the heads of the channel over the investigation in the alleged scam.
