Researchers Isolate A Superbug 'C auris', Which Could Trigger A New Pandemic

Three months into 2021, India is going through a tough phase with the rapid spike in fresh infections. In the last 24 hours, India registered nearly 40,000 infections with as many as 39,726 infections.
As if Corona far is not enough for India, the researchers have detected a "superbug" on sandy beaches in the country. Scientists are expressing their concerns that the multidrug-resistant organism might result in another pandemic.
In the medical journal named mBio, the researchers have warned that the Superbug Candida Auris could spread in India too claiming that the Covid-19 made way for Candida Auris to spread its way by preparing perfect conditions for the pandemics. We should fear the superbug even more than Covid-19. Being multidrug-resistant makes the superbug more contagious and deadlier.
To prepare the study, the experts' team headed by Dr. Anuradha Chowdhary, at the University of Delhi, had examined various samples of soil and water. These samples were collected from the sandy beaches around the Andaman Nicobar Islands
As part of their study, the researchers' team has found strong evidence to prove that the superbug might be the next big pandemic in the country. The superbug was isolated from two sites from the beaches- a beach that attracts human activity and a salt marsh wetland with no human activity so far.
However, there is no evidence of the roots of the superbug. No evidence has been found to prove that the superbug is related to India. The virus can grow on people's skin and could enter a person's body through wounds too. After entering the bloodstream, the virus could trigger sepsis, one of the major reasons behind global deaths.
