Since yesterday Indian-origin Rishi Sunak has been trending in the news and social media platforms after he was elected as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. After a majority of MPs in the party backed Rishi Sunak, he was elected to the plum post.

After his appointment, Indians started celebrating the news given the fact that the British ruled us for a few decades and now the Indian-origin person is going to rule the British nation. Indians are feeling proud about this and are taking to social media to share their happiness.

Now a piece of news is doing rounds on Rishi Sunak and it also involves Telugu Desam Party founder chief Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. What he said three decades back appeared true. People are talking about this now.

As per the media information, back in the 1980s. NTR visited the United States for a Telugu convention. Addressing the gathering, NTR reportedly said he hopes to see a Telugu person ruling the United States. His comments then created a rage and Congress and the friendly parties brutally slammed him for his comments.

Cut to around 35 years, an Indian-origin person became the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Though Rishi Sunak is not a Telugu person, his roots are in India. Even a Telugu person is seen as an Indian in other nations and what he hoped appeared true almost.

NTR floated Telugu Desam Party against the grand old Congress to fight for the self-respect of the Telugu people saying that the Congress is not respecting the Telugu community and changing the Chief Ministers regularly.

Though NTR is seen as the pride of the Telugu community, his closeness with the Indian culture made him close to people from other languages too. He preferred wearing saffron dresses and panache which is the Indian culture.

Indian-origin people are shining big across the globe. They hold big positions in big companies and Indian origin Kamala Harris is serving as the Vice President of the United States. If the same continues we might see a Telugu person taking up a big position in other nations.
