Rohit Sharma nominated for Prestigious Award

In fact, Rohit Sharma is the only cricketer in the World to score two double hundrends and 250-plus score in ODIs. He holds the record of most runs scored in a ODI (264 runs) and he did it against Australia in Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium. He led IPL franchise Mumbai Indians to victory in 2 editions. His career average is 39.29 in Tests and 39.20 in ODIs.
A 12-Member Committee on Tuesday held a meeting to decide on the nominations. As many as 92 sportspersons have been nominated for the Arjuna Awards and around 15 of them might get lucky this year.
Apart from Rohit Sharma, PR Sreejesh (hockey), Jitu Rai (shooting), Babita (wrestling), Srikanth, Dipa Karmakar (gymnastics), MR Poovamma (athletics) and Sharath Gayakwad (para-swimming) are most likely to be conferred with Arjuna Award this year.
President Pranab Mukherjee will present the National Sports Awards at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on August 29th, on the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Dhyan Chand.
