Rohit Mother Converts To Buddhism

Radhika Vemula, mother of late Rohit, a Ph.D. student of Univeristy of Hyderabad has become a Buddhist. Rohitâs mother Radhika has been in the news for quite some time now. Rohit committed suicide in his hostel room few months back in an alleged case of discrimination against Dalits.
Rohit's death sparked protests and outrage from across India and gained widespread media attention and his mother Radhika has been fighting to seek justice for her deceased son who hanged himself in his hostel room.
Radhika Vemula has seen several hardships after death of her son. Embroiled in the controversy connected to Rohith's caste, Radhika has had to face many uncomfortable questions from the media.
The intrusion into her personal details, her marriage and past has been raked up insensitively in many cases, by the authorities and media alike. The 49-year-old who is divorced from Rohithâs father and raised him and his two siblings working as a tailor also refused the Rs 8 lakh ex-gratia offered by the University of Hyderabad.
