Rs 12,000 Crore To Reach 6 Cr Farmers On Jan 2

Centre stopped the transfer of fund to Aadhaar-linked Bank Accounts of Farmers from December 1st as the idea was to disburse the final amount at once in the New Year. This is going to be the last installment for the current financial year 2019-20.
Date of around 9.2 crore farmers was collected by Centre till December end. Uttar Pradesh leads the chart with 2 crore out of 2.4 crore farmers enrolling for the PM Kisan Scheme. West Bengal is the only state in the country to refuse the benefit extended through this scheme inspite of having over 70 lakh farmers. That's a call taken by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to ensure BJP doesn't emerge as an alternative for TMC.
NDA Government estimated PM Kisan might lead to a burden of Rs 75,000 crore per year. Till November end, Centre disbursed only Rs 35,955 crore to the bank accounts of farmers. The final tally will be anywhere close to Rs 45,000 crore as the last installment is just Rs 12,000 crore.
