RS results as expected, KK elected with 26 votes
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Feb 2014 4:44 PM GMTThe results of the polling for six Rajya Sabha seats have been announced and they are as expected.
K.V.P.Ramachandra Rao, T.Subbarami Reddy and M.A. Khan are elected from Congress and T.Seetarama Lakshmi and Garikapati Mohan Rao are elected from Telugu Desam party .K Kesava Rao who said to be the luckiest candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections was elected from TRS
About 248 MLAs have voted in the elections. Congress MLA Daggubati Venkateswara Rao chooses the None Of The Above (NOTA) option and another Congress MLA Kandru Kamala has left the blank ballet paper in the ballet box.
Seven candidates had contested for the six seats and Adala Prabhakara Reddy has withdrawn his candidature in the last minute which made the way clear.
However, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that Congress party had a secret tie-up with Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
“Elections to six Rajya Sabha seats have exposed Congress-TRS nexus. While TDP had the strength to win two seats, Congress could have won four seats in Rajya Sabha polls. By fielding only three candidates, Congress has left one seat for TRS candidate. This unofficial seat-sharing arrangement clearly shows that both parties are into a secret understanding with each other. All are working under the direction of Sonia Gandhi ” Naidu said.
