Hindu nationalist organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak(RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat who is known for his controversial statements, yet again made remarks on Muslims in India.

He said Muslims in this country are content, because of the safe space created for the minority community by India. He termed India's inherent nature as that of Hindus, according to media reports

Drawing a comparison with Pakistan, Bhagwat said, followers of other religions in Pakistan do not enjoy their rights, unlike India.

Talking about the essence of India, the RSS chief said India's history has proved how followers of different religions stood together when it's the matter of protecting the country's culture.

He reminded that Muslim warriors in Mewar king Maharana Pratap's army have fought against the army of Mughal emperor Akbar.

Sticking to RSS ideology, the RSS chief maintained that the Indian Constitution did not mention that only Hindus can stay in this country and Hindus will be heard here. He added that those who want to stay here should accept the superiority of Hindus.

Individual choice of worship will not cme in the way of Hindu identity. Religion must connect, uplift, and unite everyone: Media reports quoted him.

His statements came in the wake of the European Parliament's Subcommittee on Human Rights opined that minorities in India, particularly Muslims are targeted in India.
