Rumours Of Akhanda Deepam going Off In Tirumala are Wrong

Rumours are abounding that the regular rituals are not being performed as per schedule in Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateshwara. Some interested sources are also spreading rumours that the Akhanda Deepam has extinguished. This is being considered a very bad omen.
However, TTD chief priest Ramana Deekshitulu has scoffed at these rumours. He asked the people not to believe these half-truths and untruths. He said these were being promoted to create panic among the people. He said the Akhanda Deepam is on through out the day starting from the Suprabhatam till the Ekantha Seva. He said everything is being done as per the Agama rules and that there is no disruption in any of the ritual service to the Lord.
He also said that the Dhanwantari Yagam, aimed at providing relief and succour to the public at large in times of Corona crisis, is going on and that the Purnahuti of the special Yagam would be performed on Saturday. The Vedic scholars of TTD are chating the Surya Japam and other mantras aimed at propitiating the Ashta Dikpalakas (Protectors of the eight directions).
