Putting an end to all speculations about him, star Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag recently announced his retirement from all forms of the cricket. Today Sehwag speaking about his decision revealed some more interesting details. Sehwag revealed that he wanted to retire at the top of his game.

Sehwag said that he wanted to retire from cricket in 2007 itself but it was Sachin Tendulkar who stopped him from calling it quits

"Every player wants to retire at the top of his international game. I could have got chance for delivering retirement speech if I quit while playing. I was planned to retire in 2007 when dropped from the team but Sachin stopped me from doing so," he said.

Sehwag also said that selectors did not give him enough chances and dropped him after a few failures.

Sehwag featured in 104 Tests and scored 8,586 runs at a staggering average of 49.34. In 251 One-Day Internationals (ODI), he amassed 8,273 runs at an average of 35.05. Sehwag was dropped from the Indian squad against Australia in March 2013 and since then he didn’t get chance to play for team.
