Sachin's First Question in Parliament

The former cricketer asked Minister of Railways why it had declared suburban railway services as a separate zone. He also questioned what happened in the case of Kolkata Metro be replicated in cities such as Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi as they too have similar suburban rail services.
In response, Minister of State for Railways explained Metro Railways (Kolkata) is one of its kind on Indian Railways which operates only Metro Services. He added, The Separate Zone was accorded to Metro Railways after taking operations and administration into consideration.
Sachin Tendulkar is also a member of the Parliament Committee on Information Technology since September 1, 2015.
