Take Kashmir, Will Not Give Hyderabad

The book has been unveiled at an event in Delhi on Monday. On the occasion of his book launch, Saifuddin made controversial comments. He said that Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel who played a key role in the Indian freedom struggle was ready to give Kashmir to Pakistan at that time.
He said "Sardar Patel proposed to give Kashmir instead of Hyderabad. While having discussions with the then Pakistan PM Liaquat Ali Khan, Patel asked him not to talk about Hyderabad. He proposed him to take Kashmir instead of Hyderabad. Though Khan started preparations for the war, Patel didn't take any measures in that direction."
Former union minister Jairam Ramesh also attended the book launch programme. It is not the first time that Soz made controversial comments. He supported former Pakistan president Parvez Musharraf in the past. On the other hand, Congress party taking a cautious approach to respond to his comments. Congress official spokesperson Randeep Surjevala said that Jammu Kashmir Congress committee will take an appropriate action on Saifuddin Soz.
