Post the Galwan standoff with China, there is a perceptional change in the buying behaviour of the people across the country. In many major town and even in villages, the people are refusing to buy Chinese products. Across North India, in many places, the buyers are insisting that the shopowners should not display items of foreign make in general and Chinese products in particular.

In Chandigarh’s Patel Market, the traders have announced that they would not sell Chinese products. They said they had to take this decision as the people are refusing to buy commodities from shops that display Chinese products. In many places, China Bazaar boards are being pulled down. As a result, the sale of Chinese products has come down considerably. The sale of Chinese plasticware and toys has also come down.

In Galwan, as many as 20 Jawans, including their commanding officer Col. Santosh Babu, were brutally killed by the Chinese, who were trying to intrude into Indian soil. There is a ground swell of patriotic fervour across the country ever since this martyrdom.
