Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan who is waiting for release of his upcoming film Sultan will be going to receive a rare honor. As per reports Salman Khan Name will be announced as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Indian contingent at Rio Olympics, this year.
Salman Khan will represent India in the 2016 Olympics to be held in Rio as he has been nominated as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Indian Contingent. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) made the announcement at its headquarters in New Delhi today.
Salman name was picked from a list which also included Shah Rukh Khan and veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan. The Olympic association reportedly chose Salman as he is considered to be more connected with the youth and is known to be a sports enthusiast.
Rio Olympics is scheduled to commence on August 5 and end on August 21.This is the first time that a Bollywood actor will be a goodwill ambassador for the Indian contingent at the Olympics.
Salman is currently busy shooting for 'Sultan,' a sports-drama, based on one of India's oldest sports, wrestling. Sultan sees him in the role of a wrestler who rises from small town origins to achieve international success.
