Samsung Vice Chairman Lee Jae-Yong Jailed For 2.5 Years

He is heading back to prison after a South Korean court sentenced him over his involvement in a 2016 corruption scandal that drove massive protests and ousted South Korea's then-president. He was found guilty in the scandal that brought down president Park Geun-Hye.
Lee had allegedly bribing then-President Park Geun-Hye and her close confidante to win government support for a 2015 merger between two Samsung affiliates. The deal benefited strengthen his power over the country's largest business group.
