RIP TDP In Telangana?
X
Is the TDP going to become just history in Telangana? Is the party launched by NTR's blood and sweat way back in 1983, going to be a thing of past in the very region, where it was the strongest? Yes... it appears so. The two MLAs in Telangana who have won on the TDP ticket, are all set to jump into the ruling TRS.

MLAs Sandra Venakta Veeraiah of Sattupalli and Mecha Nageswara Rao of Aswaraopet, who have won on the TDP ticket, have on Tuesday met TRS senior leader and former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao. They held a meeting for well over an hour to discuss the modalities of their joining the TRS. With this the TDP would not have even a single MLA in Telangana. Since its formation in 1983, the party will not have any MLA in the assembly for the first ever time. They are likely to make a formal announcement and then join the TRS before this Sankranthi. They have been assured of respectable 'rehabilitation' within the TRS. With this the TRS numbers will rise to 93 in the Telangana assembly.

Interestingly, Khammam is the only district where the TRS fared very badly. The Congress has six seats, the TDP 2 and one independent. The independent has already joined the TRS.
