Sri Lankan star player Kumar Sangakkara on SUnday became the only cricketer to score three consecutive centuries in a World Cup. He achieved this feat in the Pool A match against Australia in Sydney.

The 37-Year-Old scored his ODI 24th Ton in his 402nd Match. Unfortunately, Sri Lanka fell short of target (377) by 65 runs to help Australia reach Quarter Finals.

In fact, Sangakkara is only the second cricketer in history to score over 14,000 runs in ODIs. He is only next to Cricket God Sachin Tendulkar.

Kumar Sangakkara will retire from ODIs after the ongoing World Cup. He already quit T20 after winning World T20 2014 and will be bidding adieu to Tests in August this year after India series.
