Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara is one of the greatest batsman of all time. In a career spanning around 15 years, His contribution to the game and his country is priceless.
In fact, Kumar Sangakkara is only next to Sachin Tendulkar in the list most runs scored in all the three formats (Tests, ODIs & T20s). While Sachin stands on top with 34,357 runs, Sangakkara comes second with 27,966 runs.
In 133 Tests, Kumar Sangakkara scored 12,350 runs. He stands 5th Position in highest run scorers in this format. While Bradman scored 12 Double Centuries, Sangakkara made 11 Double Centuries till date and he is the only cricketer to achieve this feat. Altogether, He have 38 Test Centuries to his credit. The Srilankan is also the fastest in scoring 8,000; 9,000; 11,000 and 12,000 runs in Tests.
In 404 ODIs, Kumar Sangakkara scored 14,234 runs at an average of 41.98. He have made 25 Centuries and 93 Half Centuries.
Kumar Sangakkara announced retirement from ODIs after the recent ICC World Cup. He will be retiring from Tests as well post the ongoing 2nd Test Match against India in Colombo.
