By: Tupaki Desk | 18 July 2019 8:37 AM GMTSaravanan Bhavan Owner P Rajagopal died in a private hospital on Thursday morning.
It was only few days ago, P Rajagopal surrendered to serve life term in connection with the murder committed decades ago. He was admitted to the hospital the same day after he complained about uneasiness. Madras High Court on Tuesday passed an order granting permission for shifting the 71-Year-Old from Government Stanley Hospital to Madras High Court.
P Rajagopal was convicted in the murder of his employee Prince Santhakumar. Earlier, The Supreme Court rejected the plea of P Rajagopal to delay his sentence on medical grounds. Even the appeal made to treat his hospitalisation as a deemed jail term was turned down. Finally, The Dosa King surrendered on July 9th.
Way back in the 90s, Rajagopal wished to marry a Woman on the advice of his astrologer. However, The Young Woman in her twenties rejected the proposal as he already had two wives and married Santhakumar in 1999. In 2001, Rajagopal threatened the couple to end their marriage. Few days later, Santhakumar was kidnapped and murdered. A Sessions Court sentenced Rajagopal to 10 years in prison. While Madras High Court upheld the conviction, Supreme Court turned down his appeal and asked him to surrender on July 7th for serving the jail sentence.
