Unfortunately, the chopper that was carrying Chief of Defence Bipin Rawat, his wife, and others crashed near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu earlier this week. Out of the 14 passengers, 13 passengers lost their lives in the crash. The last rites of the 13 were performed just a while ago in the national capital Delhi.

Ever since the unfortunate incident happened, reports and rumors on the cause of the crash have been doing rounds on social media. The Indian Air Force (IAF) had stepped in and urged everyone to not believe the fake news and avoid the speculations surrounding the chopper crash.

In a tweet, the Indian Air Force said that a tri-service Court of Inquiry to look into the incident has been started and the comprehensive report submitted by the officials would give an answer to the questions. Adding further, the IAF urged everyone to avoid the uninformed speculation as a bid to respect the dignity of the deceased people.

"IAF has constituted a tri-service Court of Inquiry to investigate the cause of the tragic helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. The inquiry would be completed expeditiously & facts brought out. Till then, to respect the dignity of the deceased, uninformed speculation may be avoided," the tweet reads.

The news of the tri-services inquiry into the matter was earlier made by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while briefing the Parliament on the news. After announcing the sad news, the Defence Minister said, he is announcing the news with profound grief.
