A blunder committed by State Bank of India Bank Official led to the credit of Rs 100 crore to a wrong account. Till date, Only 70 percent of the amount was recovered. The Central Bank is putting efforts required to recover the balance amount of Rs 30 crore.

During the period between August 5th to September 19th, Rs 100 crore allocated for Mid-Day Meal (MDM) in Jharkhand were wrongly credited to a Construction Company. Later, The Firm transferred the amount to 7-8 accounts belonging to it.

When the Jharkhand's Education Ministry sought release of the Mid-Day Meal fund, SBI realized something went wrong. The goof-up was noticed during an internal inquiry and the official responsible for it was suspended. A formal complaint was lodged with the CBI unit in Ranchi.
