Sc Gives Green Signal For Pop Idol Immersion In Hussain Sagar

The Telangana Government got a big relief on the immersion of Ganesh idols made of Plaster of Paris in Hussain Sagar. The Supreme Court on Thursday gave the green signal for the immersion of the idols in the water body.
The State government had knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court challenging the verdict given by the Telangana High Court. In the orders the Court said, the immersion cannot be allowed saying that idols made of Plaster of Paris would pollute the water body.
The Court asked why the Telangana High Court has failed to take the measures to bring alternative steps to immerse the idols so that the water bodies will not get polluted by the idols.
After the High Court refused the petition, the Telangana Government moved the Supreme Court. The petition came up for the hearing on Thursday and the country's top court heard the petition.
The lawyers who represented the Telangana government in their arguments told the court that they can't make any alternative arrangements for the immersion of the idols as the time for this is very less. Satisfied with the arguments, the Supreme Court gave its nod for the immersion.
