The Supreme Court has been pulling the Centre over the Covid-19 situations nowadays. The top court is not even refraining from using harsh words on the Union Government.

The country's top court took suo moto cognizance on the burning issues in the country, oxygen supply, and vaccine policy on Friday. During the hearing, the Supreme Court has made serious comments.

The Supreme Court has made it clear that no state should clampdown on information when the citizens express their grievances on social media platforms. If any citizen is harassed, the Court will see it as contempt of court.

"It is grave concern to me as a citizen or judge. If citizens communicate their grievances on social media, we do not want clamp down on information. Let us hear the voices of citizens," Justice DY Chandrahud said.

Calling the shortage of medical oxygen and bed facility a human crisis, Justice DY Chandrachud said, the situation is so severe that the doctors and healthcare workers are not able to get the hospital beds.

With the third phase of the nationwide Coronavirus vaccination drive to start from tomorrow, the apex court asked, why can't the Centre purchase 100 percent of vaccine doses. Why should there be two prices for the Centre and states? The court asked.

Terming the vaccine price as serious issues, the Apex Court questioned, how come the poor and marginalised people will get themselves vaccinated?. The national immunisation model should be followed by India, the court said.

Delhi represents the micro problems of the country and the Central government holds special responsibility towards the national capital, the Supreme Court said today during the hearing.
