SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar pulls 2 District Collectors over Unanimous polls

Since the election process of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat elections started, the term has been widely used, that is unanimous elections. While the government is planning for unanimous polls, the SEC is against the practice.
Despite the State Election Commission directing the parties and leaders to not aim for the unanimous polls by force, several Panchayats in the state were made unanimous.
Andhra Pradesh's State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Remesh Kumar has found fault with the unanimous polls in Chittoor and Guntur. 110 and 67 Panchayats were unanimously elected in the districts respectively.
Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has directed the District collectors of Chittoor and Guntur to submit detailed reports on the unanimous polls. He asked why these two districts reported the highest unanimous polls.
The SEC called for a press meet in Ongole on the Panchayat elections. Speaking at the meeting, Nimmagadda said that the Covid-19 infections have come down rapidly and urged the voters to exercise their rights.
He said, the concerned officials are not leaving any stone unturned to hold the polls in a peaceful atmosphere. He showered praises on the commitment of the officials involved in the polls.
He went on to say that the SEC is opposing the unanimous elections in the Panchayat elections which were claimed by putting force. Such practice is not acceptable, which hinders democracy.
'I am not against any political party or leader in the state. It is my duty to see that no unwanted incidents take place during the elections and the elections will be held without any issues,' SEC said
