Seniors Complain Against Revanth Over Huzurabad Bypoll
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Oct 2021 7:38 AM GMTIt is now reliably learnt that four senior Congress leaders have lodged a complaint against Revanth Reddy to the Congress High Command. They claimed that TPCC chief Revanth Reddy is hand in glove with the BJP and has put up a weak candidate in Huzurabad bypoll. They said that instead of focusing on the bypolls, he was busy organising shows of strength in Mahabubnagar, his home turf, they said.
The senior leaders said that two committees of the TPCC have recommended that the Congress ticket should be given to local leaders only. Instead of this, the ticket was given to an outsider with no roots in Huzurabad. They said that both Revanth Reddy and Malli Bhatti Vikramarka have conspired to give ticket to a rank outsider. They said this has ensured the Congress defeat in the bypoll.
Among those who wrote the letter to the high command are an MP, an ex-MP and a key functionary of the TPCSS. Interestingly, key leaders like Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Turpu Jagga Reddy were designated as the star campaigners of the party. However, none of them have gone to Huzurabad to campaign for the party candidate. In fact, Jagga Reddy has not been attending any party programme of late. He is citing some reason or the other, but is skipping important meetings.
Meanwhile, the BJP and the TRS are forging ahead in the campaign. They are working to a plan and are deploying their key campaigners in a systematic way. On the other hand, the Congress campaign is yet to begin in Huzurabad. It remains to be seen how the High Command acts on this complaint.
