Settlers Ask Inconvenient Questions, Flummox KTR

The settlers are no longer cagey in Telangana. They seem to have realized that their vote power is going to be the decider in the coming elections in Telangana. So, they are now more confident and more vocal. The otherday, KTR organized a meeting of the "settlers" in the city in Nizampet.  The migrants have openly said that KCR's comments were hurting to them. Some people asked point-blank for KCR giving a clarification on the settlers.  The anguish in the Andhraits has stunned KTR.

The TRS had roped in three MLAs - Gandhi of Serilingampalli, M Krishna Rao of Kukatpalli and M Gopinath of Jubilee hills.  They represent constituencies with 90 percent settler votes. The TRS chose 21 speakers from the three constituencies. Some of the speakers had said that the comments on Chandrababu by the TRS leadership are unacceptable. They said any attack on Chandrababu is being seen as an attack on the Andhraites. They also took objections to KCR calling Andhraites as 'treacherous'. One of the speakers pointed out that the three MLAs sitting on the dais were still TDP members and asked the TRS to desist from criticizing Chandrababu.

In his reply, KCR was apologetic and said that criticism was part of politics and requested them not to take criticizing Chandrababu as criicising the Andhraites.  It was strange to see otherwise belligerent KTR pleading softly with the Andhraites. KTR knows antagonizing Andhraites could prove very costly in about 25 seats in Telangana.
