Settlers Might Go With The TRS This Time

Hyderabad is a truly cosmopolitan city and people from different states and language backgrounds have been flocking to Hyderabad for many years. The inflow started during the Nizam era and is continuing even now. Hyderabad is home to people from states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and many other states. Some communities are financially very powerful and yet others are numerically significant. Immigrants like Lodhs have an MLA too. What the settlers want is peace and opportunities to prosper. If a party or government provides these things, they would vote for that party or government. With elections round the corner, the settlers therefore have become very important in Hyderabad.

Soon after birfurcation, there was certain degree of insecurity among the settlers. But, the TRS has managed to ensre that the setters were not subjected to any hardships. In fact, there were comments that the TRS was very friendly towards the settlers. The Opposition did nothing for the welfare of the settlers. In fact, Congress has never been powerful in the city. It has won one or two seats in the past. But, all those leaders are now in the TRS. So, Maha Kutami may not have any impact on the migrant voters. The BJP too has failed to pick up and pull its socks. Some of the Central Government's policies have also alienated the middle class away from the BJP. So, the settlers might go with the TRS this time.
