Several Held In London For Protesting In Support To Indian Farmers

Support for farmers' protests in India against three agricultural bills is on the rise abroad. The farmer protest movement spread to London. Already Canada has made its voice heard. The Prime Minister of the country Justin Trudeau himself stood up for the farmers. This time the expatriate Indians living in Britain took to the streets in protest.
Thousands of people protested in central London on Sunday surrounding the office of the Indian High Commission. Several people were arrested by the police for violating COVID-19 rules. Sikhs in London staged a large-scale protest against government-mandated agricultural bills displaying the placards. They rallied to the Indian High Commission office in the Aldwych area in the heart of London.
Several police officers in face masks asked the protesters to scatter from the "We stand with farmers of Punjab" demonstration, having warned that strict regulations remain in place to help prevent the spread of Covid and therefore demonstrations of larger than 30 risk arrests and fines. More than 4,000 Sikhs took part in the protest, as per reports.
