Superstar goes back on Intolerance remark

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan's statement on intolerance created a storm. VHP Leaders have gone to the extent of comparing him with dreaded terrorists and also branded him as a deshdrohi.
Responding to the criticism, Shahrukh Khan explained he never said India is intolerant and whatever he had spoken in the TV interview of the eve of his 50th Birthday was misconstrued. He further adds, 'Initially, I said I wouldn't like talking about it! But when they insisted, I had just said that the youth should concentrate on making this a secular, progressive country. It is just that people like to believe what they want to believe. I am annoyed because I didn't mean what is being portrayed. That's a nuisance'.
King Khan states he stopped hosting shows such as award ceremonies these days just because everyone don't understand his way of thinking or even his sense of humour. He admits the fact that one can't please everyone all the time.
