The much-awaited first test between India and Australia as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has started in Adelaide on Thursday. More than the match, the controversial remarks of the commentators stole the limelight.

During the first session on day one of the test, Australian cricket commentator and former Cricketer Shane Warne was on air with Fox-Cricket which is dedicated to screening cricket matches.

Taking to the fellow commentators, Shane Warne referred Indian Bastman Cheteshwar Pujara to steve, a nickname that was given to him when he[played for the Yorkshire team.

But the reference used by Shane Warne Steve is often used by Yorkshire to discriminate against the players on the grounds of their race.

Shane Warne's Steve remark came weeks after former Yorkshire captain Azeem Rafiq lodged a complaint about the same remark. In his complaint, he said, he faced harassment due to his race.

Not only from India but the netizens from other countries including Australia slammed Shane Warne and demanded the ace-spinner to render an apology for the Indian batsman.
