Setback to KCR in his Native District?
By: Tupaki Desk | 20 Aug 2015 2:31 PM ISTTRS Government planned to begin the distribution of affordable liquor to poor from October 1st, on the same date from which Telangana's new liquor policy will come into force. The cheap liquor that will be introduced by the Government would replace the ID Liquor which is more harmful to health.
However, State Government received a setback in KCR's native district itself. People of Mirjapally village in Shankarampet mandal of Khammam district decided to implement prohibition on liquor during the meeting held to discuss Grama Jyothi initiative. Villagers have warned people operating liquor outlets not to play with the lives of people for quick bucks.
Interestingly, Hefty fines will be imposed on drunkards and those people who encourage liquor consumption. While the retailers will be fined Rs 20,000 when caught selling the liquor, Citizens consuming it will have to pay Rs 10,000 per person when caught red-handed.
A Committee comprising of only women has been constituted to ensure implementation of liquor prohibition. This Anti-Liquor Panel have 23 Members including a President. Will the other Telangana Villages take inspiration from Mirjapally Villagers?
