New Zealand Head Coach Gary Stead has come up with a proposal. He feels sharing the 2019 World Cup title with New Zealand should be considered by the International Cricket Council (ICC). 'When you play for seven weeks and can't be separated on the final day, Sharing the World Cup title should be considered,' he says.
New Zealand Batting Coach Craig McMillan feels making the two nations share the World Cup trophy will be the right thing to do.
Earlier, Former Cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Brett Lee, Dean Jones and Sanjay Manjrekar slammed ICC for setting such a rule to decide the winner. Post the match, New Zealand Skipper Kane Williamson opined it was a shame that winner of the final in a World Cup was decided in such a manner.
