Shashank Manohar resigns as BCCI President

In the wake of reports that he might be appointed as the Chairman of International Cricket Council (ICC), Shashank Manohar submitted his resignation to the post of BCCI President.
Shashank Manohar got elected as BCCI Chief after Jagmohan Dalmia passed away even before the completion of his term. He is someone who is known from maintaining transparency and have the record of taking stringent action against corrupt practices.
Apparently, Shashank Manohar is BCCI's nominated chairman in ICC. As per rules, The Chairman of ICC can't be allowed to be the Chief of Country's Cricket Board. Hence, Mr. Manohar had to sacrifice the BCCI Post to become ICC Chairman.
Cash-rich BCCI has been dictating terms to ICC since the few years. Shashank Manohar's appointment as Chairman will further strengthen the grip BCCI had on ICC.
