Search for 'South Indian Masala' on Google ends up showing the hot pictures of Actresses. Whereas, Various Spices & North Indian Cuisines have been shown when 'North Indian Masala' is searched. This has led to a serious debate on the social media as the historical fact that Kerala is the spice garden of India has come under threat.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor reported the matter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai through Twitter. He termed the display of hot pictures for 'South Indian Masala' as bizarre and disgraceful.
Google clarified that it's Search Engine Results will be dependent on intent & happiness of the user and previous results.
Interestingly, Search for 'Hindi Masala' would show Hot Pictures just alike 'South Indian Masala'.
