SHE is not the 2nd Wife of Lagadapati: SC
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 Sep 2013 8:45 AM GMTThe Supreme Court has dismissed the petition filed against Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal in connection with the relation he shares with his alleged second wife Janaki.
Few months ago, Sunkara Krishna Murthy who is an independent candidate in 2009 polls and lost the election to Lagadapati has filed a petition in High Court seeking the declaration of the sitting Vijayawada MP's election as invalid as he married another woman without even divorcing his first wife. However, HC has dismiss this plea as the petitioner failed to prove Janaki is the second wife of MP.
Mr. Murthy then filed a writ petition in Supreme Court challenging the election of Lagadapati Rajagopal as Vijayawada MP. He accused the Lok Sabha MP of not providing information about his third son in the election affidavit submitted by him while filing the nomination. However, Supreme Court has struck down the petition as there are no proofs to say all of these accusations as true.
