Digvijay Singh has been in politics since 1969. He served as Chief Minister of Congress-ruled Madhya Pradesh for a period of 10 Years from 1993 to 2003. His First Wife Asha Singh passed away in 2013. His downfall began when his love affair with Anchor Amrita Rai was exposed due to leaks.
Congress Party kept searching for the Leaders who could replace Digvijay Singh in the crucial posts since then. He was sacked as Telangana & Karnataka Congress in-charge long back. Now, Former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy is being appointed as AP Congress in-charge in place of Digvijay. Both Telangana Congress and AP Congress had been in crisis since 2009. Digvijay failed to motivate the party leaders and lead a spirited fight back. He hasn't even visited AP much in the past few years and that shows his disinterest. Today's Order indicates Digvijay have no organisational role in Congress.
