Shock To Modi...Wake Up Call For Rahul

A clean sweep for BJP was expected in the Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly Polls which are happening just 5 months after the Lok Sabha Polls. Anticipating defeat, Neither Sonia Gandhi nor Priyanka Gandhi bothered to campaign for the party in these two states. Forget about Rahul Gandhi who is more than happy spending time playing cricket.

Majority of the Exit Polls predicted landslide victory for BJP in Maharashtra and Haryana. Whereas, Voters in these two states left everyone stunned with their mandate.

In Maharashtra, BJP managed to get less number of seats than what it managed in the previous elections. Out of 288 Seats, Saffron Party settled for 122 seats and its alliance partner Shiv Sena received 63 seats in 2014. Overall, NDA achieved much more number of seats than magic figure. Congress and its alliance partner NCP secured 42 and 41 seats respectively.

NDA is all set to lose many seats in 2019 Elections though it might retain power. By 12 PM, BJP & Shiv Sena had collectively managed to lead in 163 seats. Congress & NCP, on the other hand, have an upper hand in 97 seats. While VBA secured 2 Seats, Others account for 25 Seats. NDA might win a few seats more than the magic figure (144) in this election and its like a moral defeat for the Coalition Government. Sharad Pawar-led NCP leading in around 50 seats is a shock to NDA.

In Haryana, Congress offered a stiff fight to BJP. By 12 PM, BJP was leading in 42 seats. While Congress is ahead in 29 seats, JJP leads in 11 Seats, INLD + Akali won 2 Seats. There is every possibility of Hung Assembly here. While Congress is keen to form government, JJP offered to support Congress if it offers Deputy CM Post.

Had if Congress Leadership offered this Assembly Elections ample importance, BJP might have certainly faced defeat in both these states. A golden opportunity was missed and it's high time Rahul Gandhi wakes up.
